TEM images and markers for osteoblast lineage and osteoid were used to describe cranial base morphogenesis in CH. CH was associated with obliteration of the median neurocranial fossa and absence of the median basal fossa, ossification of the spheno-occipital synchondrosis, development of the basioccipital arch, and proliferation of the external occipital condyle. Bone growth occurred within the spheno-occipital synchondrosis by elongation of the spheno-occipital synchondrosis, expansion of the basioccipital arch, and formation of a floorplate. Development of the occipitotemporal mesenchyme prior to osteoblast differentiation appears to be the major factor in the presence of a basioccipital arch.1. Field of the Invention
This invention relates to a system for detecting obstacles in the path of a movable device, which may be a piece of machinery such as a machine tool, and for applying an alarm signal when an obstacle is detected. Such a system is particularly useful in an automatic workshop in which machine tools are moved and positioned in accordance with a predetermined program.
2. Description of the Prior Art
Generally, a single alarm system for detecting obstacles in the path of a movable device, such as a machine tool, is capable of detecting only one kind of obstacle at a time. If an obstacle has already been detected, the machine tool cannot be moved without stopping the operation of the system. Therefore, the process must be stopped. In other words, since the machine tool may cause injury to the operator or may cause damage to the workpiece if the machine tool runs into an obstacle, the process is stopped in order to protect the operator and the workpiece.
